PUTRAJAYA, Aug 2- The Health Ministry today announced five new projects under the healthcare National Key Economic Area (NKEA), with total investment valued at RM388.1 million.
Its Minister Datuk Seri Dr S. Subramaniam said, the five projects were also projected to rake in RM445.2 million Gross National Income (GNI) and create 1,599 new jobs by 2020.
He said the five companies are Abio Orthopedics, Karl Mueller Scientific Sdn Bhd, RB Lifescience Sdn Bhd, Kotra Pharma and Sima Medical.
“Abio Orthopedics will be investing RM224.5 million to expand contract manufacturing of orthopedics devices in Penang and another penang-based company Karl Mueller Scientific Sdn Bhd will be investing RM1.4 million to produce single or disposable medical devices and accessories.
“Some RM60 million would be invested by Kotra Pharma to develop a manufacturing line to produce sterile inject able or infusion products,” he told reporters at the NKEA Healthcare Progress Update, here, today.
Dr Subramaniam said, RB Lifescience Sdn Bhd will be invest RM94.5 million in pharmaceutical plant for manufacturing of Inhalers and Oncology Injectables meanwhile Sima Medical Sdn Bhd will be develop orthopedic clinical device worth RM7.7 million investment.
