KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 3- Malaysia Airlines (MAS) will serve a special menu on-board its flights on the first and second day of Hari Raya Aidilfitri with special Raya menu and special fare discount promotions for post Hari Raya.
For the two-days, passengers will be served with compressed rice (nasi impit) with chicken rendang, braised mixed vegetables with coconut gravy and peanut sauce on business class and ghee rice with chicken rendang and mixed vegetables on economy class.
The national carrier will also serve popular Malay delicacies such as “dodol” and pineapple tarts as an extra offering to passengers on various routes on the first day of Raya.
“It is important for us to celebrate various festivities with our esteemed guests. We wish to deliver the experience and feel of Hari Raya to those who are traveling on these days,” said Malaysia Airlines Director of Customer Services Datuk Mohd Salleh Ahmad Tabrani in a statement.
The meals are specially designed by in-house chefs and are aimed at recreating an authentic local taste.
Post-celebration, the national carrier would offer promotional fares for flights across its network.
Customers can start booking these fares from Aug 5 till Aug 25, for the travel period beginning Aug 19, 2013 to May 31, 2014.
MAS is offering discounts up to 50 per cent for domestic destinations, an all-inclusive return airfare on economy class from Kuala Lumpur to Kota Kinabalu starting from RM290, while to Penang and Johor Bahru, the fares start from RM150 and RM170, respectively.
For business class travellers, an all inclusive return fare from Kuala Lumpur starts from RM599 to Kota Bahru and Langkawi, while to Kota Kinabalu and Kuching the fares start from RM1,099.
Tickets to selected international destinations are also on sale with economy class, all-inclusive return airfare from Kuala Lumpur to Phuket starting from RM299 while travel to Kunming is priced from RM799.
Customers can also choose to fly on business class to Sydney with prices starting from RM6,299 from Kuala Lumpur or all-inclusive return business class fare to Bali and Bangkok which starts from RM1,229.
