KOTA BAHARU, Aug 6 – Kelantan Umno Liaison Committee chairman Datuk Seri Mustapa Mohamed (photo) is to defend his seat in the Umno Supreme Council at the party elections in October.
The Jeli MP and Ayer Lanas state assemblyman, when asked whether he would go for any higher position in the party, said he would only defend his supreme council seat “unless something unexpected came up”.
Mustapa, who is the Minister of International Trade and Industry, spoke to reporters after attending a breaking-of-the-fast with heads of government departments and NGOs here last night.
Also present was Kelantan Umno Liaison Committee deputy chairman Datuk Dr Awang Adek Hussin.
