NEW DELHI, Aug 20 – AirAsia India has appointed a Chartered Accountant, Vijay Gopalan, as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) for its operations.
In a statement, it said Vijay has over a decade’s experience and is also a holder of an Advanced Diploma in Marketing and Sales.
“He also had a stint in consulting, along with corporate soft skills training,” said the statement.
AirAsia (India), a joint venture between AirAsia of Malaysia, the Tata Group and Arun Bhatia of Telestra Tradeplace, is awaiting statutory clearances to launch its service.
At present, AirAsia through its operations based in Thailand and Malaysia, already connects to Chennai, Bangalore, Thiruchirapalli (Trichy), Kochi and Kolkata, in India.
