KOTA KINABALU, Sept 5 – The Home Ministry has identified individuals involved in secret societies who may also be involved in politics in the country, Minister Datuk Seri Dr Ahmad Zahid Hamidi said Thursday.
“If those politicians are former members of secret societies, they might have already repented and it would not be fair to associate them with those societies again.
“But, if investigations reveal that they still have a connection with triads, then we will expose them and take legal action,” he told reporters here after presenting the National Sovereignty Medals to 56 security personnel.
Ahmad Zahid was commenting on the disclosure by former Bukit Aman CID director Tan Sri Zaman Khan Rahim Khan that a former convict who had been a triad chief was now a low-ranking leader in a political party in Penang.
