Wanita Umno’s Sayang Squad Helps Clean Flood Victims’ Houses



Temerloh, Dec 10 – The Wanita Umno’s Sayang Squad will help clean the houses of flood victims as soon as they are allowed to return home, Wanita Umno chief Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil said.

“The squad has approximately 3,000 members. I have asked them to go to the ground to help the flood victims clean their houses,” she told reporters after attending the briefing on flood situation at the Temerloh police headquarters here Monday.


Also present were Temerloh police chief ACP Aziz Salleh, Lanchang assemblyman Datuk Mohd Sharkar Shamsuddin and Temerloh district officer Datuk Tarif Abdul Rahman.

Shahrizat, who is also chairman of National Welfare Foundation, said the squad would cooperate with government agencies and non-governmental organisations in all its charity works.

During the briefing, Shahrizat also praised the Temerloh flood operations committee for its excellent job in helping the flood victims in the district.

She also presented essential items to flood victims taking shelter at Sekolah Kebangsaan Batu Kapur, Mentakab.
