Kuala Lumpur, Dec 13- DiGi Telecommunications Sdn Bhd aims to increase its mobile Internet users after announcing its new DiGizens Thank You Sale on Thursday.
Its Head of Channels and Regions Loh Keh Jiat said currently the telecommunication company has a total user base of 10.8 million.
“We’re targeting on the youth who are the main group subscribing to mobile internet. As for the third quarter (of this year), the total number of Internet users who used DiGi Internet is 6.8 million,” he told reporters on the sidelines of DiGizen Thank You Sale and MyAndroid Hub launch.
Asked on market share, Loh said DiGi’s performance was not based on percentage, however there are 36 per cent DiGi smartphone users currently.
He said the company hoped to attract more users to subscribe to its mobile internet plan.
DiGi also launched its sales campaign and the second MyAndroid hub after opening its first outlet in Subang Jaya on Sept 9, 2013.
The company also expects to open another four MyAndroid hubs and retail space in four main key towns, namely Ipoh, Kuching, Johor Bahru and Penang.
