New Delhi, Jan 6- The Mobile World Congress (MWC) in February will see the launch of the Samsung Galaxy S5. The next Galaxy series flagship will be unveiled in Barcelona, Spain, as the event would take place there during February 24-27, 2014.
Reports on leading websites quoted Doon-hoon Chang, Samsung’s vice president of design strategy, as saying that speculations over the possible launch of the Galaxy S5 at MWC were right.
The top Samsung executive, while talking to media at an event in Seoul, did not divulge any other information on the upcoming device except that a new material could be used to build the Galaxy S5 and it may possibly come with a flexible display.
The Samsung Galaxy S5 is rumoured to come in two versions; one in full metal body and another in the normal plastic body. They would be priced differently. The one with metal body is speculated to be named Galaxy F. As per reports, Samsung Galaxy F would follow the launch of Galaxy S5.
Launched in April, 2013, Samsung Galaxy S4 has been the best selling Android phone ever. With the sale of 20 million units within just two months of launch, Galaxy S4 became the fastest selling Android phone. In October, Samsung CEO JK Shin had revealed that the South Korean tech major had sold over 40 million units of Galaxy S4 handsets since its launch in late April, 2013.
