Kuala Lumpur, Jan 10 – Deputy Finance Minister Datuk Ahmad Maslan said the government will not reduce subsidy for RON95 petrol tonight.
“There is no 20 sen cut in subsidy for RON95 petrol tonight as spread via the internet,” he said via his Twitter account Thursday night.
Social networking sites had quoted Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak as saying Putrajaya will raise the price of RON95 by 20 sen from tonight.
The market price of RON95 petrol is RM2.10 per litre.
Ahmad said compared to other countries in the world, Malaysia still provide subsidy for petrol.
