Putrajaya, Jan 21 – The MIC Youth plans to set up a monitoring unit to receive complaints from the Indian community on their dissatisfaction with the civil service.

Its leader, C. Sivarraajh said the plan was made to Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Senator Datuk Paul Low during a meeting Monday.

“He gave a good response but said the mechanism should be more systematic and urge us to cooperate with the Public Complaints Bureau and other agencies,” he told reporters after the movement called on Low at his office here.

MIC Youth took a serious view of this as it often received public complaints regarding the incompetence of civil servants when performing their duties and providing services.

“Of ten complaints received, six to seven of them were related to civil servants. The common complaints among the Indians are those related to the Police, Immigration Department, National Registration Department and related enforcement agencies.”

Sivarraajh said the structure of the monitoring unit was already completed except for some details which have yet to be announced.

“I am still waiting for the green light from the party president and will announce it together with the MIC Youth committee members.”
