Johor Baharu, April 1- The Johor state government will launch a strategic growth plan by year-end aimed at driving economic growth and making Johor a high-income state.
Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Mohamed Khaled Nordin said the comprehensive plan is based on each district’s economic strengths to ensure the state’s balanced and continuous development.
“The plan is currently under review and scheduled to be completed by year-end. We not only want Johor to become a preferred investment destination, but the development must also be on par with Singapore.
“If we do not develop Johor, the people will compare the state to other states and Singapore, and eventually they will say Johor is just Singapore’s backyard,” he told reporters after a meeting with staff of the Community Development Department (KEMAS) attended by its Director-General Datuk Hassan Mohd Amin.
