KUALA LUMPUR, April 2 — AirAsia Bhd has signed an inflight entertainment and connectivity solutions agreement with Tune Box Avionics Sdn Bhd worth US$33.55 million.
In a filing to Bursa Malaysia yesterday, the low-cost airline said the agreement would be for seven years from the effective date.
“This transaction offers low upfront capital expenditure compared to traditional inflight entertainment systems and also offers access to lowest pricing as a key partner and launch customer.
“The agreement will enable additional inflight services that AirAsia can monetise such as sale of data roaming packages and boost electronic platform and online credit card purchases,” it said.
