The driver of the vehicle said that a single attacker had opened fire and had targeted Hamid Mir, Geo News reported.
Reacting to the news, PTI chief Imran Khan said on Twitter: “Shocked & saddened by attack on Hamid Mir in Karachi. Strongly condemn growing threats/attacks on journalists. Govt must ensure their safety.”
Journalist Mehr Tarar said on Twitter: “Very sorry to hear about Hamid Mir getting injured after being shot at. Hope he is okay. Awful to have another journalist attacked. No ifs&buts. Shooting journalists is the most blatant way of curbing opposing voices. And the inability 2catch/punish culprits just enables it.
