New Delhi, May 18 – Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) workers light lamps around the BJP’s symbol Lotus as they celebrate BJP’s win and as a thanks giving gesture to the public after their party’s victory in the Indian Parliamentary elections in Bhopal, India, 17 May 2014.

Modi led India’s Hindu nationalist BJP to unprecedented victory on 16 May in the general elections, beating the incumbent Indian National Congress.

Across the nation BJP workers held rallies and functions to celebrate their unprecedented victory. Sweets and Laddus were also distributed to mark the victory.
