Teluk Intan, May 19 – Teluk Intan parliamentary seat by-election will see a straight fight between DAP’s candidate Dyana Sofya and BN’s candidate, Gerakan president Datuk Mah Siew Keong.
Today both candidates filed their nomination papers at SMK Seri Perak nomination centre.
Teluk Intan parliamentary seat has a total of 60,349 registered voters consisting of 59,927 ordinary voters, 410 early voters and 12 overseas absentee voters who are eligible to vote in the by-election.
There are more than 60,000 voters in the constituency, 41% are Chinese, 38% Malay and 19% Indian.
The seat fell vacant after former MP Seah Leong Peng, from DAP, passed away due to cancer on May 1.
The election commission already announced that early voting will be held on May 27 while polling day is set on May 31.
