Kuala Lumpur, May 23 – ‘Kochadaiyaan’ an historical epic movie, is the story of a warrior Rana who accomplish his father’s promise to regain Kottaiyapattinam soldiers from their enemy country Kalingapura.
In this much awaited movie, Super Star Rajini Kanth plays the major roles of kochadaiyaan and both his sons Rana and Sena.
The movie is directed by Rajini’s younger daughter Soundharya Rajinikanth Aswin and popular director K.S.Ravikumar handles the story and screenplay.
Apart from Rajini there are many other well known artists from bollywood and kollywood namely Sarathkumar, Deepika Padukon, Sobana, Nasser, Aathi, Rukhmini who play important roles in this movie.
Soundarya Rajinikanth for the first time has introduced a new technology (3D Motion Capture) in this movie to give a different feel of experience for millions of Rajini fans all over world.
The entire movie was shot by 3D motion capture technology which has been used earlier in some of the famous Hollywood films beginning with ‘Avatar’.
Surprisingly, the movie does not disappointed the fans who had been waiting with mixed responses.
A first time technology for Indian cinema
Before the release of the movie many gave negative perceptions about this movie by saying it is a cartoon movie. There were also criticisms that Rajni fans would be disappointed seeing their super hero in this new format.
Distributors and theatre owners were also sceptical that the movie might not be able to draw the expected crowds given the massive capital invested into the movie.
But we must admit that it is an unforgettable experience watching this movie in theatre in this new technological format.
After few minutes into the movie you get engrossed into the storyline and just forget that you are watching an animated style film. The storyline is so strong that you get involved with the characters and screenplay while watching this movie.
However, there is a lack of perfection between the actors face and body language action with the exception of Rajinikanth and Nasser.
It is particularly very difficult to identify the faces of Sarathkumar, Deepika & Rukmani with their corresponding actions.
Audience were also very excited and happy to watch late veteran actor Nagesh on screen again. The theatre came alive with applause when Nagesh appears in the movie.
Although the movie employs a new technology, it succeeds in creating a Rajni movie feel by capturing the essence of a Rajni movie.
Kudos to Soundharya & the entire team for putting so much effort in creating a historical movie and ensuring a feat for Rajni fans.
The movie’s screenplay was written by KS Ravikumar, a super hit commercial movie director who is well known for crispy punch dialogues. He has maintained his speciality of telling a story with enough twists and turns to keep the audience engaged and glued to their seats.
The technology used in this movie is the first for Tamil cinema industry. So we cannot compare this movie with other Hollywood films like avatar, given the massive resources available to the Hollywood producers.
Nevertheless, it will be a wonderful experience – not to be missed – for Super Star fans and Tamil film lovers to watch this movie.
Kochadaiyaan – Will stay in people’s heart forever.
