COLOMBO, June 9 – Six Sri Lankan government ministers are reportedly under surveillance for selling state secrets, Xinhua news agency reported citing local media.
Local website Colombopage quoting the Deshaya daily said an investigation team is monitoring the six ministers who are alleged to have leaked defense and other top level secrets to foreign countries.
The ministers represent the Kandy, Gampaha, Kalutara, Puttalam, Batticaloa and Ampara districts in parliament.
They were believed to have received financial and other benefits such as foreign tours for revealing state information.
The government is yet to confirm the allegations.
