SUNGAI SIPUT, Feb 19 – Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin(Pic) who arrived in Perak this morning, headed straight to the Sungai Siput Public Market, to visit traders during his walkabout.
Muhyiddin who arrived with his wife Puan Seri Norainee Abdul Rahman at 9.45am was received by Perak Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Dr Zambry Abdul Kadir, Deputy minister of Domestic Trade, Cooperatives and Consumerism Datuk Tan Lian
Hoe and Deputy Minister in the Prime Minister’s Department Datuk S.K Devamany.
The Deputy Prime Minister and his wife later had breakfast at a food stall owned by Norazlin Abdullah, 29, for about 20 minutes, before visiting traders at the Public Market. Muhyiddin later handed keys to nine new traders at the market who became the proud owners of shops build by the Ministry of Housing and Local Government at a cost of RM938,000.
After ending his walkabout at the Public Market, Muhyiddin who took time off to greet about 40 children from Tabika Holy Infant Sungai Siput, headed to the Dataran Pusat Kegiatan KEMAS Sungai by bus to attend the 1Malaysia Peoples’ Gathering.
