SUNGAI SIPUT, Feb 19 – Deputy Prime Minister Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin is confident of better support from the Indian community for Barisan Nasional (BN) in the coming 13th general election (13th GE). He said that based on a survey conducted on Indian voters nationwide, majority of them now supported BN.
“Perhaps, in the last general election, they were influenced by the opposition parties and Hindraf, as well as over several issues that cropped up which made them angry, but that was five years ago,” he told reporters after
attending the 1Malaysia People’s Feast here today.
Muhyiddin said the step taken by the government in helping all races through the transformation policy and ‘touch point’ programmes since two years ago had made the people realised that the BN-led government was capable of helping them.
“So, we in BN, are confident that in this coming general election, the support from the Indian community for BN will be better,” he added.
