KUALA LUMPUR, Aug 13 – A toddler who fell off a chair as claimed by her babysitter, and was in a coma since being admitted to Sungai Buloh Hospital on Thursday, died at 7 am today.
Following the incident at Flora Damansara, Petaling Jaya, Nurain Damia Mohamad Naqiuddin, aged one year and two months, failed to regain consciousness even after undergoing surgery to remove a blood clot in her head, according to
her uncle Mohd Helmi Zakaria.
“Her remains will be buried this afternoon at the Bukit Kiara Muslim cemetery,” he said when contacted by Bernama.
Nurain Damia’s mother had earlier lodged a police report after noticing bruises on her child and suspecting that she might have been physically abused.
Meanwhile, Petaling Jaya police chief ACP Azmi Abu Kassim confirmed receiving a report on the toddler’s death this morning.
