New Delhi,Aug 29-This Saturday, Prime Minister Narendra Modi will fly to Kyoto to begin his Aug 30-Sep 3 Japan visit. This will be Modi’s maiden visit outside South Asia since he took office in May 2014.
The external affairs ministry on Thursday said the Indian prime minister will be received in Kyoto by his Japanese counterpart Shinzo Abe, who will host him at dinner. Modi will also visit Kyoto, which has been added to the schedule as it “represents confluence of the civilizational heritage of India and Japan through Buddhism”. The Indian leader is also likely to meet the Japanese emperor.
