KUALA LUMPUR, Sept 3 – The remains of local actress Subashini J. Retnam, 38, her Dutch husband Paul Goes and their daughter Kaela Maya Jay Goes, 21 months, who were killed in the Malaysia Airlines flight MH17 tragedy will be kept at the Nirvana Memorial Centre in Sungai Besi, here.
NV Group Public Affairs general manager Datuk Freddy Chan said the family members have yet to inform him about their next course of action such as prayers and burial.”We (Nirvana) are not sure how long the remains will be kept here and we are waiting for further information from family members,” he told reporters here.
Subashini, a local actress, has appeared in several drama series, including Spanar Jaya, Gadis 3 and theatre performances such as Fourplay and Charley’s Auntie.In the July 17 incident, Shubashni was on her way back to Kuala Lumpur with her husband and daughter after visiting her in-laws in Amsterdam.
Flight MH17 crashed in eastern Ukraine on July 17 as it was flying from Amsterdam to Kuala Lumpur with 283 passengers and 15 crew on board. The Boeing 777-200 aircraft is believed to have been shot down over the troubled country.
Besides Malaysians, nationals from the Netherlands, Australia, Indonesia, the United Kingdom, Germany, Belgium, the Philippines, Canada and New Zealand were among the 298 passengers and crew on board.
