“Sales for iPhone 6 and iPhone 6 Plus exceeded our expectations for the launch weekend, and we couldn’t be happier,” said Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO. “We would like to thank all of our customers for making this our best launch ever, shattering all previous sell-through records by a large margin.
While our team managed the manufacturing ramp better than ever before, we could have sold many more iPhones with greater supply and we are working hard to fill orders as quickly as possible.”
Compared to the iPhone 5S, the iPhone 6 has a larger 4.7-inch screen, a faster 64-bit A8 processor, and an improved 8-megapixel camera. The iPhone 6 Plus is even bigger with 5.5-inch screen and features a massive battery and an 8-megapixel camera with optical image stabilisation. The phones ship with iOS 8.
Apple is currently facing a supply crunch due to the high demand for both the phones. Apple advises people who have ordered the phone to check the Apple store app for updates on when the phone will be available or wait for updates on their mail.Apple is expected to launch the iPhone 6 in India on October 17.
