KUALA LUMPUR, October 9 – Fourteen people were injured in a homemade bomb explosion in front of a nightclub at Sun Complex in Bukit Bintang early today.
The incident is believed to have stemmed from a fight between two secret societies. Kuala Lumpur CID deputy chief ACP Khairi Ahrasa said two bombs were hurled from the level two parking bay of the building in the 4.20 am incident.
“One of the bombs exploded in front of the nightclub. The other went unexploded underneath a Toyota Camry car,” he told reporters here today. He said seven victims, one seriously injured were sent to Kuala Lumpur Hospital while the rest, to Tung Shin Hospital.
“We are investigating the motive, background of the victims and explosives used. We received a call from the public on the incident around 4.25 am,” he said.
