KUALA LUMPUR, October 9 – The public have been urged not to speculate or incriminate foreigners in the homemade bomb explosion in front of a nightclub at Sun Complex in Bukit Bintang early today.
Home deputy minister Datuk Dr Wan Junaidi Tuanku Jaafar said the incident in which 14 people were injured, could have been due to business rivalry among the nightclubs.
“I have received the initial report on the incident but I cannot disclose anything until the police have completed their investigation,” he told the Dewan Rakyat during the question-and-answer session today.
Wan Junaidi was commenting on an alleged statement by Datuk Shamsul Anuar Nasarah (BN-Lenggong), linking foreigners to the incident and claiming that they had contributed to the rise in the country’s crime index. He said the culprits in the incident would not escape prosecution.
