Bengaluru blast a terror attack, says Karnataka Home Minister!

bangaloreBengaluru, December 29 – Karnataka Home Minister KJ George on Monday said that the Bengaluru blast was a terror attack. He was talking to a private news channel. A woman died and three were injured in a blast outside a popular restaurant on Church Street in Bengaluru on Sunday.

However, no one has yet claimed responsibility for the blast. Woman killed in Bengaluru blast Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah has called a high-level meeting on Monday in the wake of the blast.

A National Investigation Agency (NIA) team has been rushed from Hyderabad to examine the explosion site on Church Street in Bangalore. However, the NIA has not formally taken over the probe.

bangalore2_650_122914090924The blast occurred around 8:30 pm near Coconut Grove close to the fashionable Brigade Road. The probe agencies have found a timer and also a battery at the blast site. According to reports, aluminium pipe was used for the blast.

Union Home Minister Rajnath Singh on Sunday night spoke to Karnataka Chief Minister S. Siddaramaiah following a low-intensity blast in Bangalore and assured all help from the central government.

During the telephonic conversation, the chief minister briefed the home minister about the prevailing situation in Karnataka, particularly in Bangalore.
