KUANTAN, Feb 28 – The High Court today postponed to Monday the hearing of the RM5-million suit filed by PAS vice-president Datuk Husam Musa(Pic) against a blogger for posting three articles which allegedly defamed him. Justice Datuk Mariana Yahya made the decision in her chambers after allowing an application by Husam to have another lawyer, Gobind Singh Deo, also represent him in the case.
Husam is currently represented by counsel Hisham Fauzi while the blogger, Kickdefella, whose real name is Syed Azidi Syed Abdul Aziz, is represented by lawyer Datuk Jahaberdeen Mohamed Yunoos. Mariana had postponed the hearing from Dec 19 to today after the two parties failed to reach an agreement for an out-of-court settlement. Husam filed the suit on Sept 19 last year, claiming that three articles posted on the blog, kickdefella.wordpress.com, between January and July last year contained elements which defamed him.
