Office-bearers confirm resignation

On last Saturday, selliyal.com reported that the key office-bearers of MAICCI have resigned to pave for  fresh election to be held to elect a new set of office-bearers. A pro-tem committee has been formed with several functions one of it being to hold the elections for the association by the end of March this year.

This report was based on the information disclosed by one of the office-bearers of MAICCI who attended the Management Council meeting held on Friday 30th January. However, the officer-bearer declined to be quoted.

Selliyal.com’s news report also stated that the resignations were confirmed by Vasantharajan, a Management Council member from Penang, who also confirmed that he was one of the five-member pro-tem committee established to conduct MAICCI’s election.

MAICCI sources said, in the given circumstances Davendran’s statement comes as a surprise. The sources also claimed that the pro-tem committee does not want to politicise the issue and is currently in the process of getting the documentations ready to issue an official press statement.
