SINGAPORE, February 26 – Former Prime Minister Lee Kuan Yew remains warded in the intensive care unit at the Singapore General Hospital where he was admitted on Feb 5 for severe pneumonia, the Prime Minister’s Office said Thursday.
It said in a statement that Lee, 91, remained sedated and on mechanical ventilation.
His doctors had restarted him on antibiotics, and were continuing to monitor him closely, it said.
Lee, Singapore’s first prime minister who helmed the government from 1959 to 1990, is regarded as one of the longest serving prime ministers in the world.
