Kuala Lumpur, June 6 – In his life spanning over 90 years, yesterday must have been the most unforgettable day for former Prime Minister Tun Mahathir.
For all Malaysians seeking answers on 1MDB, Mahathir turned a hero at the ripe old age of 90 to show he still has the mettle and guts to take on even the Prime Minister of the day, by taking over the stage from Najib who failed to turn up at the “Nothing2hide forum”.

At the same time, the events that unfolded in front of his eyes and the manner police highhandedly andabruptly ended his speech would have reminded Mahathir about his old regime where he crushed in a dictatorial manner many democratic and peaceful gatherings and demonstrations, using the same police force.
However, at the end of the day there is no doubt that Mahathir once again won the hearts of majority of Malaysians for standing-up bravely on the 1MDB issue.

Influential former premier Mahathir Mohamad had already stepped up to the microphone and started talking when it was abruptly shut off and police escorted him off stage. Mahatir has hounded Najib over alleged corruption in the government but was not scheduled to speak at the event. Najib had been due to take part in the opening session of the forum, but failed to appear. In his absence, Mahathir came on to the stage.
