Mat Sabu to contest in Kedah

Mohamad SabuPETALING JAYA, April 5- PAS deputy president Mohamad Sabu(pic) today  confirmed that he would be contesting in Kedah in the 13th general election. Speaking to Bernama, Mohamad who is better known as Mat Sabu, however, declined to name the seat.

“Wait for the decision after a meeting of the party’s top leaders,” said Mat Sabu who has been speculated to contest the Pendang parliamentary seat in Kedah. Mat Sabu contested the Kuala Terengganu parliamentary seat in the 2008 general election but lost by 628 votes to Datuk Razali Ismail from Barisan Nasional.

Meanwhile, PAS vice-president Datuk Husam Musa is expected to contest the Putrajaya parliamentary seat, which is now held by Umno secretary-general Datuk Seri Tengku Adnan Tengku Mansor.

“I’ve heard about this but we’ll wait for the outcome of the meeting,” he said.

Husam is Salor assemblyman in Kelantan and said to be among the potential candidates to replace Datuk Nik Abdul Aziz Nik Mat as menteri besar.
