airasiaKUALA LUMPUR, May 2 — AirAsia and AirAsia X will still be operating from the LCC Terminal (LCCT) from May 2 to 8, and operations for both airlines will only begin at klia2 on Friday May 9, said AirAsia in a statement
here today.

However, several AirAsia (AK) flights (international & domestic) will be landing directly at klia2 on May 8. Guests are advised to refer to airasia.com/klia2 for the list of these flights.

“Affected guests will be informed via email and SMS, therefore AirAsia strongly encourages all guests to keep their AirAsia member profile updated to ensure that the airline is able to reach you,” said the statement.

All AirAsia X (D7) flights will still depart from and arrive at the LCCT on May 8, including flights departing in the early morning of May 9 — D7 236 to Perth (12.5 am), D7 532 to Osaka (1.00 am), D7 512 to Busan (1.15 am) and D7 170 to Jeddah (2.35 am).

Upon AirAsia’s shift from the LCCT to the new klia2 airport on May 9, guests with flights departing from the new airport are advised to arrive three hours prior to their scheduled time of departure (STD) and clear all travel
formalities as early as possible, it added.

Self check-in is available from 14 days and up to one hour prior to departure for all AirAsia flights, and up to four hours prior to departure for AirAsia X flights.

AirAsia & AirAsia X’s baggage drop counters at klia2 will open three hours before STD, and close one hour before STD for all international and domestic flights.

This is to allow guests to have sufficient time to familiarise themselves with the new airport environment and be at their respective departure gates on time.

AirAsia’s ground staff will be available to assist guests and ensure a smooth transition to the new airport, and will also continue to enforce the ‘one cabin baggage policy’ to ensure smooth boarding and disembarkation process
at klia2.
