March 9, 2013-Facebook seems to have taken inspiration from Google+ in a desperate attempt to revamp its appeal. The new design for ‘News Feed’ comes with a host of fresh features, which offer bigger images, multiple feeds for different interests and a more consistent user experience across mobile devices.

With the new design, Facebook will have now the same look and feel on every platform, whether you are using it on your mobile, tablet or laptop. For example, the left-hand menu is accessible anywhere you go on Facebook. You also have a way to jump right to the top of News Feed whenever new stories come in.

The new News Feed is cleaner, more visual and has more filtering controls. The ‘All Friends’ feed shows you everything your friends are sharing while the ‘Photos’ will bring up nothing but those from your friends and the pages you like.

But you get even more options than that.

Click on “see all” and you will be able to view your News Feed by your location, or only people you follow at your work place, high school, and so on.

Two great features of the new design are the bigger images and lesser clutter on the wall.

Multiple friends posting the same story all appear together now, their faces down the left side – this will definitely cut down the clutter on your wall. The sorting of friends is by the ones who posted it most recently.
