Yesterday India’s Income Tax department raided several locations believed to be linked to actor Vijay and “Puli” movie’s producers.
Trade sources from Chennai revealed that in Indian cinema business, the financial closures are usually concluded only one or two days before the release of the movie for big-budget movies like “Puli”. That could have been the reason for the Income Tax raids since the movie’s release was scheduled for today.
However, media reports from Chennai confirmed that some theaters in Chennai have started selling tickets for the first show of the movie at 12.00 noon (Indian time). One such theater reportedly selling ticket is “Sathyam” in Chennai.
Meanwhile, as at 12.30 pm (Malaysian Time) Malaysian theaters have not accepted any online bookings for the movie and show-times are not available.
One of the readers of selliyal.com called to confirm, he was informed by the Sentul (Kuala Lumpur) Theater staff that tickets are expected to be opened for sale for the 3.00 pm show today. However, there is no official confirmation.
