We often forget that social media has created a web of virtual world around us. And we start living in that unreal world. So what if he does not send you hugs and kisses on Facebook? Nowadays, young people do not care whether they are having quality time together.
But they want quality images to post on Facebook. If your Facebook relationship status is ‘committed’ then you must have a dozen pictures of you and your girlfriend getting cosy online. That is just ridiculous. Cause Of Dilemma: Should we announce it on Facebook? Earlier, a couple announced their engagement to their close friends and family. Now they have to announce a change in relationship status to the whole world on Facebook.
So they actually have debates on when to check the ‘engaged’ box. Cause Of Marriage: We have already announced it on Facebook! Many engagements do not turn in marriages. Some engagements are unfortunately broken off. That is why, the news of an engagement was usually kept under the wraps until recently. But privacy is not an option these days. Couples are actually scared to break off their engagement because of the public outcry on Facebook.
As soon as they change their relationship status from ‘engaged’ to ‘single’ again, there might be a hundred ‘likes’ and a million uncomfortable questions. Cause Of Divorce: He/She did not change his relationship status to ‘married’. This is an actual incident; a woman divorced her husband because he had not changed his Facebook relationship even after 1 month of marriage.
The wife felt humiliated and doubted that her husband did not want his female friends to know that he was married! Our fixation with Facebook can actually ruin our relationships.
