Malaysian Artiste Arun Kumaran – the “Malay Kabali”

Kuala Lumpur – Since the news broke out that Rajinikanth will also be speaking “Malay”, in the dubbed Malay version of Kabali, speculations were wild as to who would be the Malaysian artiste chosen to dub for Rajinikanth.

The secret is finally out now and it is Arun Kumaran (pic), an up-coming local artiste talented in mimicry (speaking in voices of others).

ArunKabali is set to break new records in Malaysia as the first Tamil movie that will be dubbed in Malay. Kabali will also be simultaneously released in Hindi and Telugu in India.

Sources said, the local distributors for Kabali, Malik Stream Corporation was on the lookout for a suitable voice to match the original Rajinikanth and finally they found Arun Kumaran, who was chosen among several other talents.

This information was shared by another local artiste Bala Ganapathy William of BGW Studios, on his face book page. Bala Ganapathy became a household name in Malaysia as the host for “Rasikka Rusikka” programme in ASTRO, in which he hunts for delicious food outlets around the country.

It is believed that interviews were conducted over a period  of 15 days to hunt for the right voice and about 200 artistes turned up. The final choice was Arun Kumaran who is also a die-hard fan of Rajini since his childhood days.

kabali_Arun is expected to travel to Chennai next month June to dub for the final-cut version of the movie “Kabali”. The movie’s teaser has already set records in you tube as the Indian movie with the highest number of views.

The Malay teaser of Kabali is also out and it is believed that the dubbing for the Malay teaser was also done by Arun in Kuala Lumpur.

However, there has been no official announcement from the producers of Kabali or local distributors Malik Stream Corporation.
