Kuala Lumpur – Sunther Subramaniam, MIC’s CWC member and son of former MIC Deputy President Tan Sri Datuk S.Subramaniam, was bestowed with the ‘Datuk’ title by the Yang Di Pertuan Agong Sultan Muhammad V in conjunction with the Federal Territory celebrations today.

Sunther was awarded with the ‘Panglima Mahkota Wilayah (PMW)’ award which carries the title Datuk.
Sunther holds a business degree from USA, and is currently the Managing Director of Makkal Osai Tamil daily.
He also heads the Osai Foundation, an organisation which is actively involved in activities to uplift the social and educational standards of underprivileged Malaysians and Malaysian Indians.
Sunther is also the Branch Chairman of MIC Old Klang Road branch which was once headed by his father. His father Tan Sri Datuk S.Subramaniam, served as the Deputy President of MIC for about 25 years from 1981 until 2006 and has held various government positions including that of Deputy Minister, Member of Parliament and Senator.
