POKOK SENA, March 22 – Pokok Sena MCA is confident that more 17,000 Chinese voters in the division will give their undivided support to the Barisan Nasional (BN) candidate during the 13th general election. Its chairman Goh Chin Cheung said programmes implemented by the division since last year were well-received by the younger generation and new voters.
“I am optimistic with the right candidate, BN is capable of wrestling the Pokok Sena Parliamentary seat as well as the Bukit Lada and Bukit Pinang state seats which fell to PAS in the 2008 election general.
“BN will not face a problem in defending the Derga state seat as 40 per cent of the 17,000 Chinese voters in the Pokok Sena Parliamentary seat are in that area,” he told Bernama when met at a presentation of ‘Caring Contribution’ by the Bukit Lada state assembly coordinator, Haris Che Mat, here, today.
Haris who is also the Pokok Sena Umno Youth chief handed over food and cash to 98 Chinese senior citizens at the ceremony.
