25 March 2013-Some time back, it was reported that Aishwarya, superstar Rajinikanth’s elder daughter and wife of actor Dhanush, was all set to float her second directorial venture starring Gautham Karthik in the lead. The film got down to the floors on Saturday (23rd March) as the crew started the shooting schedule sans any grand ceremony.
The untitled venture is being produced by AGS Entertainment. Gautham, who debuted as hero in Maniratnam’s failed project Kadal recently, appears lucky enough to have had another shot at playing the hero in Aishwarya’s film. Aishwarya debuted as director with last year’s Dhanush- Shruti Haasan starrer 3, a film which failed to live up to its pre-release billing.
In a significant decision, Aishwarya has chosen not to repeat Anirudh as music director. Debutant Anirudh scored the music of 3 and couldn’t ensure the film’s success at the box-office despite the immensely popular Why This Kolaveri Di song in the film sung and penned by Dhanush. It only showed for the umpteenth time that a film can’t achieve box-office success with a single hit song.
Yuvan Shankar Raja would be scoring the film’s music. It remains to be seen whether the new script that Aishwarya has in mind and Yuvan’s magical tunes would be enough to reverse the fortunes of both Aishwarya and Gautham, who have been hunting for their first success in Kollywood.
