26 March 2013-British Prime Minister David Cameron has introduced new measures to restrict migrant access to social housing and social benefits, sources said.
The Prime Minister warned that there be no longer a soft approach to those who come to the UK.
Immigrants will receive unemployment benefits for more than six months only if they can prove that they are actively looking for work or have a real chance to find a job. Immigrant families will have to wait five years before they receive public housing.
Besides that there will be new measures on illegal immigration. A maximum fine for companies that hire foreign workers will be doubled to 20,000 pounds.
