PUTRAJAYA, March 26 – The development of the Federal Territories, especially Kuala Lumpur, has somewhat been affected as a majority of its areas are represented by opposition MPs who intentionally delay the process to imply weakness in the government’s administration, said Federal Territories and Urban Wellbeing Minister Datuk Raja Nong Chik Raja Zainal Abidin(Pic). He said while the government worked hard to implement development agendas in the areas, various quarters would find fault and oppose such efforts.
“This includes the Kampung Baru Corporation, of which its Bill was met with much opposition.
“However, they did not give any practical alternatives, they only rejected efforts for the sake of rejecting,” he said at the ministry’s Excellent Service Awards ceremony at the Putrajaya International Convention Centre (PICC), here today.
Raja Nong Chik said this also occurred in other areas which made the administration and management process in the Federal Territories more difficult than it should be. The awards were given to 914 recipients, of whom 25 were from the ministry, 753 from Kuala Lumpur City Hall (DBKL), 69 from the Putrajaya Corporation, 43 from the Labuan Corporation, 22 from the Federal Territory Land and Minerals Office and two from the Federal Territory Sports Council.
