The assemblyman for Johor Jaya is MCA’s Tan Cher Puk, who garnered 19,538 votes to beat Md Nasir Ab Wahab of Parti Rakyat Malaysia by a majority of 10,488 votes in the general election in 2008.  Khaled was asked to comment on talk that Lim was eyeing to contest the Johor Jaya state seat in the 13th general election, to be called anytime now.
