KUANTAN, March 29 – The Pahang State Assembly will dissolve automatically on April 8 if it is not dissolved a day earlier. Its speaker, Datuk Seri Wan Mohamad Razali Wan Mahussin said as enshrined under Article 26 Clause 3 of the Laws of the State of Pahang, the State Assembly would continue for five years from the day of the first sitting unless dissolved sooner.
“Otherwise, the State Assembly will dissolve automatically on April 8.
“The first meeting of the Pahang State Assembly was on April 7, 2008 with the main agenda being the appointment of the speaker and the swearing-in of state assemblymen,” he told Bernama, today.
Wan Mohamad Razali said according to procedure, when the State Assembly was dissolved automatically, he would inform the Pahang Election Commission on the matter.
