DUNGUN, April 4 – Terengganu Menteri Besar today announced that he will defend the Kijal state seat, hence ended the speculations that his name was not in the Barisan Nasional’s (BN) list of candidates for the 13th general election.
Ahmad also announced that the Bandar state seat would also be contested by incumbent Datuk Toh Chin Yaw of MCA. Speaking to reporters after launching the Sura state constituency’s election machinery here last night, the menteri besar called on all party leaders and members to give their support to BN candidates.
“If we help others today, one day they will help us. Not contesting doesn’t mean that our political career is over,” he said. The menteri besar, however, refused to give any details on Terengganu BN’s list of election candidates.
When asked about the composition of candidates, Ahmad said: “Let’s wait for the announcement of candidates first.”
