KUALA LUMPUR: The Association of Private Hospital Malaysia (APHM) has secured 511 kidney dialysis slots, for non-COVID-19 patients undergoing dialysis across the country.
APHM president Datuk Dr Kuljit Singh said the initiative is an addition to the association’s on-going efforts to contribute to the nation and government during COVID-19 pandemic.
He said patients requiring dialysis would be referred by the respective Ministry of Health (MOH) hospital to the selected private hospital with vacant slots.
“However, all referred patients will be screened for Hepatitis B, C, and HIV by the public hospital before the referral with the relevant medical history.
“In order to have the cost affordable, the dialysis rate will be based at RM200 per session as offered by the Public Service Department (PSD) for the sponsored patients under their coverage,” he said in a statement today.
He added that the APHM is looking forward to assisting MOH as this would be an example of public-private partnership in terms of buying services from the private hospital.
