“I never had the desire to join PAS and will remain with Umno as the party is in my soul. I joined the party since young and is still with Umno,” he said at a meet-the-people session in Taman Wangi here.
Also present were the general manager of South Kelantan Development Authority (Kesedar), Mohd Arshad Ismail and the incumbent for Galas state seat, Ab Aziz Yusof. Tengku Razaleigh who will defend the Gua Musang parliamentary seat said that he was sincere in championing the people without pursuing any position.
“I accepted to be the BN candidate for Gua Musang as I am still able to carry out my duty as member of parliament. I am still healthy.”
He said voters in the constituency want him to be re elected to the Gua Musang parliamentary seat and promised to provide better service.
“It is up to the people to judge my services over the years. Gua Musang will see more change after this as I want to bring more progress here.”
At the 2008 general election, Tengku Razaleigh won the Gua Musang seat with a majority of 4,394 votes beating PAS candidate Zulkefli Mohamed.
