Azizan Abdul RazakALOR SETAR, April 24- The PAS-led Kedah government today declared polling day on May 5 a public holiday, the second state to do so after Kelantan.

Menteri Besar Datuk Seri Azizan Abdul Razak said the holiday would facilitate voting by public and private sector employees.  The granting of the holiday was decided at today’s weekly meeting of the state executive council.

“The people can go out and vote without any problem,” he told a news conference after chairing the meeting at Wisma Darul Aman here. Sunday is a working day in Kedah, just like in Kelantan. Terengganu had said that it would also consider making polling day a holiday.
