KUALA LUMPUR, May – Chief Secretary to the Government Datuk Seri Dr Ali Hamsa has urged 1.4 million civil servants in the country to
exercise their electoral rights on Sunday to elect the government that would govern the nation for the next five years.
He said they should come out in full force to vote as voting in a general election was their legitimate and sovereign rights.
“They should fulfil their responsibility to the nation as citizens of this country and to ensure the national transformation programme proceeds smoothly without any hitches.
“I’ve told civil servnts many times to come out to vote as voting is an individual’s independent right,” he told reporters after visiting the Department of Broadcasting at Angkasapuri today.
Ali said the national transformation programme must continue with civil servants prepared to implement all the policies listed under the ambitious programme.
From his two-hour visit to Angkasapuri, Ali said he could see that RTM had made thorough preparations for a full coverage of the general election.
“They’ve a complete set of sophisticated equipment. They’re fully prepared for the big event,” he added.
Also present were Information, Communications and Culture Ministry secretary-general Datuk Seri Kamaruddin Siaraf and Director-General of Broadcasting Datuk Norhyati (rpt Norhyati) Ismail.
