KLANG: The much-anticipated presentation of the Selangor state government’s report card did not materialise as there was no Barisan Nasional representative present to listen to Mentri Besar Tan Sri Khalid Ibrahim.
Khalid said he wanted to debate with Prime Minister Datuk Seri Najib Tun Razak, or one of the many Barisan-touted Mentri Besar-designate on Pakatan Rakyat’s performance in Selangor over the past five years.
It is learnt that Khalid had prepared a slide presentation to showcase the state government’s achievements under Pakatan, but decided not to present the report card as no Barisan representative showed up.
Khalid was on his campaign trail in Pandamaran Jaya, and spent about half an hour interacting with the locals before leaving for his next function.
Later, Khalid told reporters that the sale of land under the Canal City project was proper although finalised after the dissolution of the state assembly.
On Tuesday, Selangor Barisan deputy election director Datuk Seri Mohd Zin Mohamed had disputed the sale of 474ha of land for RM1.3bil, saying the caretaker government should not make long-term financial decisions.
Khalid said Mohd Zin could challenge the legality of the sale in court if he felt it was improper.
“The decision (to sell) was made before dissolution. Only the implementation was done after,” he said.
