PAGOH: Tan Sri Muhyiddin Yassin wants the police to investigate the small coloured flags being placed at various locations in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor that are said to be meeting points for opposition demonstrators after the polls results are announced.
Expressing concern over the matter, Muhyiddin said no one has come forward to explain the meaning for the flags which were found at numerous locations.
“I have received several SMS that there are numerous locations where small flags of various colours were placed on the ground in Kuala Lumpur and Selangor.
“I too wonder what it is (flags). However, I read several online sources suggesting that if Pakatan Rakyat were to lose, these places could become locations for demonstrators to meet.
“It is like they are anticipating a loss and are preparing to cause a problem,” he said after witnessing the handing over of 17 affordable homes to residents in Kampung Renchong here on Friday.
“They could be preparing to protest and denounce the decision made by the public (through their votes), which is a very dangerous situation,” he added.
Muhyiddin said when Barisan Nasional lost several states in 2008, no scenes of chaos or displeasure occurred but rather a peaceful transition took place. “This is a massive psychological war the opposition is creating until it is causing a lot of fear and discomfort to the people,” he added.
He urged the Inspector General of Police to personally investigate the matter as it was a serious security concern nationwide. “Pakatan may already claim that they have won but they cannot make such claims until the rakyat has cast their votes on May 5.
“If you lose, just accept defeat. Don’t be a desparado or a political rogue,” he said.
Muhyiddin gave the assurance that Barisan Nasional will not create any problems and will respect the people’s decision.
